Dr. Bartlett was born in Kyoto, Japan in 1911. She attended Bradford Junior College in Bradford, Mass. and Mount Holyoke College, receiving her A.B. degree from the latter in 1934. In 1938 she received her M.D. degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She was an intern, a resident in Domiciliary Medicine, and an obstetrics resident at Mass. Memorial Hospitals in Boston.
